You're probably wondering what the fuck this page is about. Maybe you think it's about my lifelong dream or something.. Maybe you think I'm going to become the next Bill Gates or Linus Torvalds....
This page is all about the fact that on a good day, I can't see crap compared to someone who has 20/20 vision. My better eye has somewhere between 20/100 & 20/200 vision.
Legally, I am considered blind, although I still rely heavily on what vision I do have. You're probably wondering how I cope with being blind. As you can imagine, me puttting this page up says I'm pretty comfortable with it. I've been blind all my life, so it's not a recent thing. Basically, I believe I was given a challenge in life (not even considering being gay, that's another challenge <g>) and I intend to live my life to the fullest possible.
For those who may be wondering, I don't own or drive a car since not being able to see whether a stoplight is green or red due to the sunlight would be a big safety hazard... LOL. I generally rely on friends & family to get me where I need to go. I do ride the bus. I do a LOT of walking which is good because of my sit-on-my-ass lifestyle.
Many people have pre-conceived notions about blind people. Even though I am not totally blind, I still am a part of the fight to eliminate those usually wrong notions. For example, a blind person (with proper training) can live an independant life WITHOUT totally relying on sighted people. Some people even think that all blind people are asexual. This is certainly NOT true.
